Review: Yours To Keep by Shannon Stacey

Yours To Keep by Shannon Stacey

201 pages
Published June 6th 2011 by Carina Press

Sean Kowalski no sooner leaves the army than he’s recruited by Emma Shaw to be her fake fiancĂ©. Emma needs to produce a husband-to-be for her grandmother’s upcoming visit, and, though Sean doesn’t like the deception, he could use the landscaping job Emma’s offering while he decides what to do with his civilian life. And, despite his attraction to Emma, there’s no chance he’ll fall for a woman with deep roots in a town he’s not planning to call home.
Emma’s not interested in a real relationship either; not with a man whose idea of home is wherever he drops his duffel bag. No matter how amazing his “pretend” kisses are…

I really hope this isn't the ending to this series. I love the Kowalski family. They are everything a family should be and more. Yours To Keep was hilarious. Pretty much every single page will have you laughing out loud. Sean is one funny character! I have no idea how Emma dealt with him. I would have fallen in love with him immediately. From the very first meeting.

I really like Shannon Stacey's writing and I will read anything she writes. I want the whole world to read this series. It's that good! I loved it and cannot wait to see what Stacey has in store for us next.

5 out of 5 stars!

Review: The Game of Love by Jeanette Murray

The Game of Love by Jeanette Murray

Kindle Edition
Expected publication: August 29th 2011
Carina Press
Chris St. James is ready for normal. After walking away from her pro tennis career and a toxic relationship with a star hockey player, she's starting a new life as a teacher and tennis coach in a small town. Now all she needs is an average guy to share it with.Brett Wallace is no average guy. Forced to retire from the NFL after an injury—and suddenly single after being dumped by his status-conscious wife—he's returned to his hometown to coach the varsity football team. Wary of women interested only in his celebrity, Brett finds Chris's indifference to his former career refreshing.
The last thing Chris needs is to get involved with another pro athlete, but she can't deny the sparks that fly between them. So she agrees to a purely physical, no-strings-attached affair. But the rules of the game change when she falls for him…85,000 words

It was so much fun reading The Game of Love. I really enjoyed it and now I want more from Jeanette Murray.

Both characters, Brett and Chris were hilarious and the sexual tension between the two was steaming off the pages. Whenever these two were in a room together or just standing next to each other, I wanted to scream "Kiss already!" Chris has a past and her past has left some scars that when she sees Brett she can't help but dislike him. But the more time she spent around Brett the more he surprises her. Brett too has a past that left some scars and at first he thinks it's best to not even pursue Chris, but in the end his attraction to her wins. He can't help but find her funny and super sexy.

I really enjoyed the way Murray developed their relationship. It wasn't super-fast, but it wasn't super-slow. It moved at a very good pace and so did the story. There wasn't a moment I wanted to put the book down.

The ending will leave you at the edge of your seat holding your breath and then the next smiling from ear to ear. A Good Choice for Reading!

Five out of Five stars!

Nadia and Finn have been separated for two years, and it's time to finally call it quits.

But before the divorce can be finalized, Finn steals an old journal that reveals Nadia’s
dark, secret fantasy of being disciplined by her husband.

Finn hatches a plan to bring her back to him . . . but he hasn’t exactly been honest with Nadia either. He is not the mild mannered business consultant Nadia thinks: he is an operative hunting a war criminal, who is now bent on revenge.

To keep Nadia safe, he takes her to a secret hideaway where secrets are revealed and
husband and wife fall under a sensual spell of erotic temptations, a domestic carnal game that may just turn into a lifetime of passion.

I am an avid fan of romance with an added element of danger. I also enjoy a story were a couple who you know love each other and just aren't together get a second chance at love. Ava spins a very HOT EROTIC tale with Catch Me, Keep Me. At first glance Nadia and Finn seem like a typical feuding couple in the middle of a divorce. Soon we realize that this couple really does love each other but by some strange twist of fate have drifted apart and, therefore, stopped working on their marriage. Yes, I understand that there is supposed to be a sub plot about Finn being in the CIA and being stalked by an assassin of sorts but the crux of the story, in my opinion, is the marriage of Finn and Nadia. Even though they seem bitter and unfeeling towards each other, the reality is, that they are actually deeply in love with no way to let their inner wants and desires shine through. Catch Me, Keep me was an enjoyable short story. On a scale from 1-10 I give it an 8 but only because some of the words Ava used to describe things during the sex scenes, for me personalty were a little crude/blunt. I just felt those words could have been replace with different ones and it would have still gotten the same feelings across. But again, as I said, that is just my personal feelings. They, in no way, took away from what Ava was trying to tell me in this story and that is true love really does conquer all. You need to believe in the love you have and trust it can survive your wants and needs. If you are looking for a short story with some HOT and Steamy action Catch Me, Keep Me is a story you should  pick up.

She's armed with a new attitude and a kick-ass wardrobe...

By age twenty-eight, art historian Jade Fitzgerald has had a marriage from hell and an equally nasty divorce, worked hard to control her weight and her arrhythmia. The last thing she needs is another man messing with her head or shooting her heartbeat off course. That is exactly what she gets when an aloof and mysterious stranger storms into her life.

He's cynical and doesn’t take crap from anyone...

Former investigative reporter Vince Knight is on a quest to recover a priceless, ancient Mayan artifact, which he believes Jade’s mother stole. He’s skilled at gathering information while remaining emotionally detached, until he meets Jade. The voluptuous woman stirs in him a hunger he hasn’t felt in a long time and a protectiveness he can’t explain.

Until, an insane man decides to add Jade to his collection of beautiful and rare things...

Neither Vince nor Jade expects passion to flare so fast or danger to dodge their footsteps. To defeat a ruthless art collector with a twisted agenda, Jade and Vince must learn to trust each other and embrace their growing feelings.

I finished Mine Until Dawn in a 24 hour period. I have never finished a 400 page book before in 1 day. That speaks to the incredible writing skills that Ms Walters has.   I started the book at around 11 PM Friday and I literally went to bed Saturday morning at 7 AM and got up at 11 AM and went right back to reading. I finished around 11 PM Saturday night. Jade and Vince had me transfixed to my computer reading. It was the best money and time I have ever spent with a book. Just when I think Ms. Walters can't surprise me she knocks me for a loop. I liked the fact that Jade gave as good as she got. I also enjoyed Vince's vulnerable side which he tries like hell to hide. They first meet at Jade's office were Vince ends up accusing (although in not so many words) Jade's mother of stealing something at a party she had gone to recently. Jade, like a devoted daughter, is outraged at what Vince has to say about her mother. As always, Ms. Walters throws us curve ball after curve ball to keep us on our toes. There is NEVER a dull moment in this book. I especially loved a particular scene involving Jade, her cousins Faith and Ashley (from Slow Burn), and Vince. I don't want to give it away because it is a very good scene but lets just say there is a very drunk Ashley and a very sexy Vince shedding his clothing. Jade and Vince are such a perfect couple that you start rooting for them from the very beginning. Every woman wants to prove to everyone else that they can handle anything that comes their way and every guy wants to prove that they don't need anyone or anything but with Jade and Vince you realize maybe just maybe it is just nice to be something to someone and to hell with everyone else. On a scale from 1-10 I give Mine Until Dawn 10. I really think I might like Mine Until Dawn better than Slow Burn and I really LOVED Slow Burn. I so can't wait for Kiss Me Crazy (The Fitzgerald Family Series Book #3). I am a fan of Ms. Walters for life whether it be her adult books or her YA books. Thank you for nurturing my LOVE of reading.

She doesn’t want to deal with the past.

Now someone is leaving him clues that could exonerate his father and they lead to Ashley’s door. Blindsided by the blazing attraction between them and a merciless killer silencing anyone who was there the night of the fire, Ron dare not tell Ashley the truth. Yet the answer he seeks may very well tear them apart.

While a demented arsonist...SLOW BURN(s)...and plots his ultimate revenge.

Slow Burn was such a HOT read. E.B. really knows how to tell a riveting story.  This story has it all a HOT guy, Hot girl, an undeniable attraction, murder, suspense, intrigue, a sociopath, and a buried family  secret. I have never been disappointed by ANY of ms. Walters books. Her stories weave a magical spell that just hold you transfixed. Ashley is an artist with no memory of what happened the night her parents died and Ron is a son desperate to find out what happened the night Ashley's parents died in the hopes of clearing his father's name. When they met, there was an instant connection between them that, no matter how they tried, they just couldn't deny. While they are forming this new relationship, all these mysteries things start happening to them. One by one things began happening to the remaining witness' of the fire that killed Ashley's parents. This story had me hanging on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. On a scale from 1-10 I give Slow Burn a 10. Slow Burn really makes you believe in love at first sight. I think everyone age 18 and over should pick up a copy of Slow Burn and let yourself get swept away by Ashley and Ron's story. While your buying Slow Burn you should also pick up book 2 Mine Until Dawn. In my opinion you can't go wrong reading an E.B. Walters book.

Review: Lessons in Indiscretion by Karen Erickson

Lessons in Indiscretion by Karen Erickson

ebook58 pages
Published June 20th 2011
Carina Press (Ages 18+)

Widowed Lady Julia Renwick is still young enough to crave a man's touch; but she's too old to think that the Earl of Bedingfield could see her as anything more than a family friend. Garrett Walker is handsome, charming and only 26 years old—the perfect catch for any one of this year's debutantes.
Garrett has no interest in the maidens vying for his attentions. He wants only Julia. With just two weeks left in the season, he makes a bold move by asking her to dance. When she counters with a shocking request of her own, Garrett eagerly agrees.
Soon, they are stealing away for passionate encounters at every society event they attend. Garrett introduces Julia to excitements she never knew existed, and her newfound confidence quickly attracts other eligible men. It's not long before Garrett realizes he must find a way to keep the lady all to himself...

This is my very first story by Karen Erickson and it wont be my last.

Lessons in Indiscretion is only 58 pages, but gives you a taste of everything you want when it comes to romance. You can easily read this story in one sitting and not feel that there should have been more.

I am not a big erotica romance lover and to be honest I am not sure if this story was erotica, but if it was I am happy that Erickson did not go to over board when it came to the sexy scenes. It was just right. Garrett was one super smoking hot character. From the very beginning the little conversation Garrett and Julia have, you immediately fall in love with him. I also really liked Julia. She was very shy and naive when it came to certain things, but she decided that life was to short and she needed to take a chance. That is exactly what she did when it came to Garrett. She took a chance and got exactly what she wanted and more.

I really liked this short story. I am now on the hunt for more stories by Karen Erickson.
