Review: Island Nights By P.J. Mellor

Savor The Pleasure
Checking out an old hotel on a remote island seems like a waste of time to Reese Parker. Why is her boss interested in this out-of-the-way place? And then she meets the ruggedly handsome and incredibly sexy Ben Adams. . .
Feel The Heat He offers to be her local guide and suddenly what started out as a nightmare becomes an erotic dream come true. It's been so long and he's so hot. . .
Surrender To Passion All it takes is one kiss and Reese is consumed by desire. She wants to strip him naked, touch and taste his body, and surrender to the searing passion that burns within her.

My Thoughts:

So I saw this book on Kesington's Facebook page (Click on the link to see more books by Kesington) and when I read the synopsis, I knew I had to read it! So I had to ask for it. And when I received the book I was ecstatic.

So in "Island Nights" you have your main character Reese, who was sent to an island to bid on an auction. She goes to this island on business but ends up more than that. At first she mets Ben Adams, a guy so sexy and arrogant at the same time. Have you ever met a guy so sexy but you can't stand him what so ever? Well that's what Reese felt with Ben. He had his fun, taunting her and teasing her. But all the while holding back sexual feelings towards her.

But when they find themselves stranded in an island, so what better way to make the best of your time, then to get to know each other "better". Having the pleasure of an island to yourself, imagine the possibilities! I know I would devour a sexy man in a stranded island. I'd make the best of my time.

P.J. Mellor delivers a sexy, hot and steamy story in "Island Nights". This book is not for the faint of heart but for the ones that love the act of  "giving & receiving" (If you get my drift) LOL. I give this book a 4 stars for it's sexy & enticing scenes between the two characters! A definite Sinfully Tasty Read!

From TV writer Dee DeTarsio, a new novel, The Scent of Jade. When an ancient jade relic that holds secrets to global warming ends up in the hands of a not-so-perfect heroine, she is thrust in a fish-out-of-water adventure, lost in the Costa Rican rainforest.

“Romancing The Stone” meets “Survivor” for Julie Fraser, who was minding her own business, living her life as snug as a bug in a rut in San Diego, California. As the least adventurous person she knows, Julie finally whooped it up one day to jet off and surprise her husband, who was on a business trip in Costa Rica. Reeling from the discovery that her husband wasn’t who she thought he was, she accidentally steals an ancient artifact and is chased through the wilds of the rainforest, not knowing where to turn, literally, or whom to trust. She knew she should have stayed home.

Can a monkey, a blonde Juan, a foreign scientist, a mysterious ‘love potion’ and the jade stone itself (that may hold secrets to global warming), help Julie on her mission to find and forgive her husband?

The stolen idol catapults her on a quest, as she discovers truths along the way about herself and her place in the universe. The Scent of Jade is creative and unique with surprising twists--in turn suspenseful and heartbreaking, combining humor and romance to reach the payoff ending. Original characters keep the pages turning.

The Scent of Jade spins its story with wit and wisdom, drawing those who love mystery, suspense, romance and adventure. While there are no vampires, readers are invited to enjoy the intrigue...
The Scent Of Jade was such a fantastic book. It had me laughing so hard it brought me to tears many a time. I would call up my mother to read her certain passages that I thought were so funny that I just had to share with her. OMG, there is one scene with a bird in the jungle that Julie thinks is a quetzal and what happens afterwards had me laughing so hard my stomach hurt. Then there is another scene with a stoned monkey that is priceless. In this book we follow the unfortunate mishaps of Julie our main character. She is known as the Potpourri Princess and she loves her job. Like a princess Julie lives a somewhat pampered life so when she stumbles upon her husband In flagrante delicto or just simply In flagrante, Julie runs in the direction of the resort, in which she and her husband are staying in Costa Rico, or so she thinks. In actuality Julie runs straight into the Costa Rican jungle. This is were the hilarity ensues. Julie discovers that she is more resilient than she thought she was. Granted it takes her getting lost in the jungle, finding a pot field, talking to a random monkey, blonde Juan, Natalia (blonde Juan's mother), police wielding guns, a waitress, two children she never met before, a scientist friend of her husband, Being kidnapped (sort of) by a guy on a moped, more cops, her husband Colin, and getting lost in the jungle for a second time to realize just how capable she really is. How Julie gets herself into those situation I mentioned is what makes this book so funny. Aside from all Julie's mishaps and trust me there is a lot to keep you riveted this book deep down is really a sweet love story. It shows us how a married couple can take each other for granted and how it takes something devastating to make one realize what is truly important in life. What I love about that message is that it wasn't preachy. The book wasn't preaching to me, as much as it was telling me a wonderful story with a hidden message about taking time to "smell the flowers' so to speak. On a scale from 1-10 I this this book a 20. I know it is off my scale but it was such a breath of fresh air and had me glued from the beginning to the end. In my opinion everyone needs to read this book. If you are a fan of funny yet oldly romantic books The Scent Of Jade is a book you need to read. I can't wait to see what Dee comes out with next.

Guest/Giveaway: Susan Mallery, Author of "ALREADY HOME" Blog Tour

Guest: Susan Mallery, Author of ALREADY HOME

Susan Mallery has entertained millions of readers with her witty and emotional stories of women and the relationships that move them. In her latest novel, ALREADY HOME, Jenna Stevens, still reeling from a recent divorce, is unpleasantly surprised by the arrival of her birth parents, who seem to want her to feel a family bond immediately. She was perfectly happy with the loving, traditional parents who raised her. Can she learn to love a second mother without damaging her relationship with the woman who raised her? I’m fascinated by creativity. My career as a writer depends on it, of course, but I’m in awe of people whose creativity takes a different form than mine does. I think we all admire what we can’t do ourselves, when it seems to come so naturally to others. Recently on my Facebook page (www.facebook.com/susanmallery), I invited my fans to post pictures of things they had made. They posted pictures of quilts and sweaters and paintings… truly beautiful, inspiring work!
I think most people are creative in some way. Engineers, architects, graphic designers… creativity is as much a part of their job as it is of mine. If I had followed my original intended career path – to be an accountant – I think I would’ve found a way to be creative. Howver, “creative accounting” is not generally considered to be a good thing, so I probably would’ve had to use my creativity to decorate my cubicle for every holiday with pictures and streamers and balloons and a pretty bowl of colorful candy.

Yes, I would’ve been that girl.

This month, I released two stories that deal with creativity in different ways: ALREADY HOME and Coming Unraveled, my story in THE KNITTING DIARIES anthology.

In Coming Unraveled, Robyn is a triple threat – a singer, dancer, and actress – who dreamed of taking Broadway by storm. In every creative endeavor, luck and timing play a major role in success. After years of auditions and rejections, Robyn just wants to go home to have a nice, normal life. Does giving up a dream have to be sad? Especially when it frees her to meet a man who is more than she ever dreamed a man could be?

In ALREADY HOME, Jenna didn’t willingly give up her dream of being a gourmet chef, she’s simply lost her creative spark, and she doesn’t know how to get it back. Her ex-husband mocked her food creations so often that she started to believe him when he said she had no talent for creating recipes. As she’s struggling with the loss of creativity and what that means to her, she’s also dealing with such major life complications as a new career, the sudden appearance of her birth parents, and a new man who just might be the love of her life.

In what ways are you creative? Do you like to write, knit, quilt, paint, garden? What do you wish you could do?
